What to say about Eric Schmidt's tweet regarding his next steps as a Google's President... It is a real declaration that management is still needed, even in the digital age. People are people and even in a tech company they need guidance to give their best at work. Being a priest is exhausting and after 10 years having done an incredible job, you have to say what you really feel. Sense of humor in management is an asset and Eric has demonstrated that he has it.

Nobody knows what is really behind this decision, but maybe Eric, Larry and Sergey think that Google needs to launch better products and again be one step ahead in the internet market. Maybe they think about Mark Zuckerberg as Facebook CEO and how he is driving his company's vision on every product decision, or they are thinking about David Filo and Jerry Yang from Yahoo!, and how they left their company in hands of Times Square media gurus forgetting all the internet principles in their online products. I believe that this is a great change at the house of Google and the company will be able to continue its growth over the next years.

Management is an art. You have to conquer people's souls to motivate them and take them to another level. Always evolving and changing, the principles are the same, but you need to reinvent your sermon regularly. Management is about people and money: a hard combination to be administrated even in the digital era. Thinking about the right company size or structure, what would be the ideal structure for a big company? I believe that in the digital era, big companies have to emulate the internet paradigm: there is no center, everything is gravitating around on its own, and like a priest, a CEO has to be constantly evangelizing the principles of our mission and how to achieve them.
